Cagliari vs Genoa Preview

Genoa boss Davide Ballardini hopes his team can end a good week on a high note when they travel to Cagliari.
The former Palermo and Cagliari coach replaced sacked Gian Piero Gasperini earlier this week and enjoyed a winning start to his reign by guiding the Grifoni to a 1-0 victory over Bologna on Wednesday.
The result was Genoa's first win since October 3 and saw them climb to 11th in the standings.
"The players deserve this," said Ballardini. "I have only been training the team for several days and I was curious to see how the team would respond.
"I am very pleased with the outcome but I know there is still a lot of work to do.
"We must give continuity to this result."
Cagliari are three points behind Genoa but will fancy their chances with the Grifoni having won just once on the road this season.
The Sardinians head into the encounter at the Sant' Elia eager to put Wednesday's 1-0 loss to Napoli behind them.
Cagliari thought they had secured a point only to be denied by Napoli's Ezequiel Lavezzi's last-gasp winner.
"It´s disappointing to lose in the last seconds of the game," said Cagliari coach Pier Paolo Bisoli.
"But we need to put this defeat behind us.
"We showed against Napoli that we have the right mentality and quality to do well.
"We just need to focus on the positives and make the most of our chances against Genoa."
The hosts will be without injured trio Andrea Lazzari, Francesco Pisano and Daniele Ragatzu.
