Laudrup installed as Mallorca coach

RCD Mallorca's search for a replacement for coach Gregorio Manzano is over after Michael Laudrup signed a two-year contract with the Bermellones.
Former Danish international Laudrup has taken charge
of a Mallorca side that finished fifth in the Spanish Liga last season to earn a UEFA Europa League play-off berth. Manzano parted company with the Balearic club at the end of that successful campaign.

The appointment marks a return to coaching for Laudrup, 46, who left his last job at FC Spartak Moskva in April 2009. Previously he had occupied the hot seats of Brøndby IF in Denmark and Getafe CF, whom he guided to the UEFA Cup quarter-finals and Copa del Rey final in his single season at the helm, 2007/08.
As a stylish attacking midfield player, Laudrup also won five Liga titles in seven years in Spain with FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF as well as lifting the 1992 European Champion Clubs' Cup with the Blaugrana.
