Inter Milan vs Tottenham Hotspur Match Preview

Inter Milan vs Tottenham Hotspur Match Preview

Tottenham Hotspur travel to Italy to take on Internazionale in a battle for top spot in Group A. Tottenham fans will be familiar with Inter coach Rafa Benitez, who was a Premier League coach, and former Champions League winner with Liverpool. Tottenham striker Peter Crouch played under Benitez at Liverpool for three seasons.

Benitez will go into this fixture without Argentinian duo Esteban Cambiasso and Diego Milito. Cambiasso could be out for two to three weeks, wheres Milito, who scored two goals in last season’s Champions League final, is expected to miss a month.

The injury to Milito means Cameroon star Samuel Eto’o will carry the attack. Eto’o is the tournament’s leading scorer so far with four goals in two games.

Tottenham have made a fine start to their campaign and are coming off a 4-1 home win against FC Twente. However, Spurs will face the tough trip to the San Siro without two stars from that performance. Rafael van der Vaart will be suspended, while Captain Ledley King limped off at the weekend with an injury and is expected to be out for an extended period of time.

Goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes will be a key performer for Tottenham, and was previously a Champions League semifinalist with PSV Eindhoven.
