Spartak Moskva vs Chelsea Match Preview

 

Spartak play Chelsea in Group F at Luzhniki Stadium. Both teams have not met before in a competitive game, and both are looking to assert their dominance on the group.

Chelsea has already defeated the other teams in the grouping. MSK Žilina was trounced 4-1 through goals from Michael Essien, Daniel Sturridge and Nicolas Anelka. The English champions beat Olympique de Marseille 2-0, with goals from John Terry and Anelka.

Spartak defeated Marseille 1-0, thanks to a late own goal. The Russian side were also victorious against MSK Zilina, with a 3-0 result. Goals from Ari and Ibson gave Spartak the points they needed heading into the clash against Chelsea.

Spartak have suffered three losses and one draw in their last four games played against English sides. Chelsea lost their Champions League final against Manchester United in 2008 at Luzhniki Stadium.
