Twente vs Werder Bremen Match Preview

 

FC Twente and Werder Bremen are tied on one point, and both need victory here to join the race for qualification from Group A. The task of both teams is made no easier by the fact they are both coming off heavy defeats. During Gameday 2 Twente were beaten handily 4-1 at Tottenham, while Bremen were battered 4-0 at Inter Milan.

Twente will have added motivation as they are playing the team that eliminated them from European competition last year, when Bremen beat them 4-2 over two legs in the Europa League. The Dutch Champions will be without winger Emir Bajrami who is out with an ankle injury.

Bremen have never won a European fixture on Dutch soil and will be looking to end that streak here. Portugal international Hugo Almeida will lead the Bremen attack, and scored in the Gameday 1 tie against Tottenham Hotspur.
