Macclesfield v Crewe

Macclesfield    v    Crewe

Johnstone's Paint Trophy second round
Venue: Moss Rose Date: Tuesday, 5 October Kick-off: 1930 BST
Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson may shuffle his pack for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy clash with Crewe.
But midfielder Izak Reid is still unavailable after missing Saturday's 2-0 win against Northampton with a groin problem.
Crewe boss Dario Gradi has no new injury worries to contend with.
But he may decide to make some changes after Saturday's 5-5 draw with Chesterfield, and has said he is likely to rest some first-team regulars.

Macclesfield manager Gary Simpson told BBC Radio Manchester:
"I think they'll change and play a different shape against us and I'll see how one or two of them are.
"I keep saying we've got to be effective and being effective in both boxes, and that's defending and putting things in their box and trying to get something.
"The way we're playing at the minute with the three in midfield is working for us and I don't think, at the moment, there's anyone better in the division than Tyrone (Barnett), he's working his socks off for us."
Crewe Alexandra manager Dario Gradi tells BBC Radio Stoke:
"We want to do well in this trophy so we'll approach it as we would a league game.
"I will have to give consideration to players who have been playing a lot of games and are a bit tired and perhaps carrying a little bit of a knock here and there.
"Macclesfield weren't easy to play last week, it's bound to be a hard game but they're all hard games."
